Joel Seger
Guest Character Artist
Joel is thrilled to be working with the artists of North Atlantic Ballet. Joel has a multi-faceted background which includes performing in musicals, plays, video, film, modeling, and radio. He fondly remembers his first performance on stage.... as a singing and dancing marshmallow. It’s been uphill all the way!
Proving the adage “you’re never too old to dance”, Joel started studying at 17 years old. He has never been the same! Over the years, Joel has worked or studied with many great teachers including; Terrie Legien, Jason Samuels-Smith, Robin Dunn, and Frank Hatchett, just to name a few. Joel was fortunate to be trained in ballet by Sabina Copilu-Cheatra of Romania. It was with her teaching and encouragement that Joel eventually began teaching ballet for different dance studios in Central MA.
Joel was the Artistic Director of CCS Dance Academy for 22 years. A studio he ran with his wife, Christine. The pair currently own Vanilla Box Productions, a theatrical production business where he is the Artistic Director. Currently, most of Joel’s work involves theatre. He is teaching classes, directing and choreographing shows as well as designing sets and costumes.
